Clark Bible

The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments,
New York, American Bible Society, 1876.

This Bible is in poor condition. It is split in half at around the
beginning of the New Testament. The pages, except those
near the split, are in good condition.

It is not hard to see why this Bible fell out of the family. Of
Emma's seven children, six were dead by 1880, most
in infancy and early childhood. It really pulls my heart to see
these sad family stories.

There is ephemera in this Bible placing the family in Maine,
including, appropriately, a postcard from the Elmwood
Cemetary Improvement Association addressed to Frank
Park in 1922.

The Park family is found in the 1880 Searsport, Waldo County,
Maine federal census.
